Shubbak partner with Sadler’s Wells, to introduce the poignant work of Syrian dancer and choreographer Mithkal Alzghair. In a double bill evening, he draws attention to the human being amidst the complexities of migration and war. Deconstructing Syrian traditional dances, he brings to the surface the paradox of a deeply rooted culture and its current experience of displace

Mithkal Alzghair is choreographer, dancer, Syrian. His studies bridge the East (Higher Institute of Dramatic Art in Damascus, Syria) and the West (master of choreographic studies “ex.e.r.ce” at the national choreographic center of Montpellier, France).
He created Displacement in March 2016, a solo and a trio piece in which he questions his legacy as an exile. The show won the 1st prize in the international competition “Danse élargie”, organized by the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris and the Museum of Dance / CCN Rennes et de Bretagne.
