A literary salon for cultural resistance

The literary salon will be a space where radical thinkers, global south diasporas and politically-engaged communities come together for a discussion led by poets. Poets will read work relating to a particular theme of the month, the literature will be a departure point for collective conversations with a bent towards liberatory action. It is rooted in Ghassan Kanafani’s notion of resistance literature which cannot be separated from social movements. The salons will simultaneously archive the cultural schools of thought that accompany this current epoch.

The poets who will be leading as public intellectuals are: Lola Olufemi, Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan, Fran Lock, Jason Allen Paisant, Jamal Mehmood, Liv Wynter and Victoria Adukwei Bulley. These poets are at the frontier of innovative literatures and cultural change.

The series launched in April 2025, and will continue across the year. Follow our socials or join the mailing list for announcements and upcoming dates.
