Shubbak Festival | A window on contemporary Arab culture

"Shubbak not only shows the diversity of Arab culture but also what makes it distinctive to itself."

Festival audience member, 2019

Every two years in London, Shubbak presents a major festival showcasing contemporary Arab art and culture. The most recent festival took place live and online June–July 2021.

There's always plenty to see and do. From marathon DJ sets to evenings of soulful dance and music, cutting edge films to new classics, fresh talent in dance and the visual arts to theatrical legends, and bold new voices in literature and poetry. The varied programme offers a different perspective on Arab culture. Audiences are excited by the chance to discover new and interesting artists, and to re-acquaint themselves with celebrated names.
