"مشاهد مما نجى" هو عمل فني ديناميكي متعدد الأوجه للفنانة العراقية رند عبد الجبار.
انبثق هذا العمل عن ورشة عمل تشاركية بعنوان "ذكريات الوطن" شاركت فيها نساء من الشتات العربي والعراقي في لندن في حوارات حول دور الذاكرة فيما يتعلق بالتاريخ والمكان.
يستحضر هذا العمل الفني الذي يتألف من أرشيف رقمي يضم سلسلة من العروض والتركيبات النحتية القدرة الانتقالية للذاكرة على تحدي حدود الزمان والمكان ويحتفي بقدرتها على ربط تجارب الماضي وأماكنه العزيزة على قلوبنا بالحاضر.
أدت انتصار حجلي – أحد أعضاء الورشة الأصلية – عرض "الكرمة المتسلقة"، وهو مونولوج شخصي، في تشيلسي فيزيك جاردن في مهرجان شُبّاك في نسخته لعام 2021، وهذا العرض متمم لسلسلة من التدخلات النحتية الموضوعة بعناية وسط مجموعة كبيرة من النباتات من جميع أنحاء العالم، وفي هذا الأمر رمزية مجازية بالنسبة للفنانة رند عبد الجبار لما له من أصداء في موضوعيّ الهجرة والتشتت.
وفي أيام معينة، تقود انتصار الجمهور في جولة أداء تسرد فيها نصها الشخصي المكتوب خصيصًا لهذا الأداء، حيث يجذبها التقاؤها برائحة الياسمين إلى وطنها الذي تتوق للعودة إليه وتحرضها هذه الرائحة على تذكر ذكريات عزيزة من الماضي عن شجرة الياسمين وكرمة العنب اللتين كانتا تنموان في حديقة عائلتها في سوريا.
ومما تسرده انتصار في هذا الأداء: "في يوم من رحلة سفري وأنا متكئة على شباك غرفتي القديم، تسلل نسيم هادي عَطِر. هزّت جسدي رعشة دافية، ما عرفتها من سنين، وكأنها رجّعت الروح لجسد منهك. شدتني هادي النسمات لحديقة بجانب غرفتي. مشيت مع فراشاتها وعلى صوت جدولها حتى وصلت لشجرة شامخة، قديمة قِدَم آلامي. جلست تحت ظلها أتأمل أغصانها العالية وأوراقها اللي كانت تتهامس مع بعض. سألت نفسي: "معقول هاي الأوراق بتعرف قصتي؟ أو سمعت قصص بتشبه قصتي؟""

Every Act of Recognition Alters What Survives is a multi-faceted, dynamic work by Iraqi artist Rand Abdul Jabbar.
It emerged from a participatory workshop entitled Memories of Home, in which women of the Iraqi and Arab diaspora in London engaged in conversations around the role of memory in relation to place and history.
Comprising a digital archive, a series of sculptural installations and performances, the work evokes memory’s transportative power to defy boundaries of space and time, and celebrates its capacity to connect cherished experiences and places from the past in the present moment.
The Climbing Vine, a personal monologue performed by one of the original workshop members Entissar Hajali, was performed at Chelsea Physic Garden during Shubbak Festival 2021. It complemented a series of sensitively placed sculptural interventions set amidst the wide range of plants from across the world, symbolic for Rand Abdul Jabbar because of their resonance with themes of migration and dispersion.
On certain days, Entissar led audiences on a performance walk reciting her specially written personal text. An encounter with the scent of jasmine draws her to her homeland where she longs to return. It instigates her recollection of treasured memories from the past of the jasmine tree and grapevine that grew in her family’s garden in Syria.
“One day during my travels, as I leaned against my bedroom window, a calm scented breeze swept over me. A warmth I hadn’t felt in years enveloped me, breathing life back into my exhausted body. I followed the breeze to a beautiful garden nearby. I walked side by side with the butterflies, to the rhythm of its creek, and arrived at a towering old tree…as old as my pain. I sat in its shade, looking up at its high branches, at its leaves whispering to one another. I wondered: Could these leaves know my story? Could they have heard similar stories?”
